In this edition of SO Basically, we call for the repeal of India's colonial-era sedition law under section 124 (A) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), which has been used to cripple dissent time and again. Given its misuse, the existence of other laws under the IPC which subsume its purpose and its illiberal nature, the law holds no place in the world's largest democracy.
