There is one big difference between how the government functions and how markets function. While the government spends our money on projects that don’t always have a direct benefit for its people, markets spend money creating products that are of utility to its consumers. Take the half-built police memorial in Delhi, for example. Crores were spent on it, and now a lawsuit is going to raze it to the ground. Obviously, the government machinery responsible did not think it was important to do the homework before going ahead with the construction process.
